Summer open air competitions by Multivision Festival: "The Best “City and Citizens” short animated film" and "The Best “Cats and the City” animated and fiction cat viral film", took place at Multi-Bridge CTC at night from 29 to 30th August to the attention of 20 000 spectators

"Multi-Bridge CTC’’ will become one of the biggest open air cinema hall in Europe with its giant 400 sq.m screen. Over the evening of 29 August, in St.Petersburg, Russia, the city that is famous for its iconic drawbridges, the Troitsky lifting bridge will be transformed into the giant screen for animated short films, selected by the International Festival of Animation Arts Multivision. This unique art experience will be shared by more than 30 000 spectators.

CATBOOM !  ! - Video installation, performance, 2013

«Catboom!» video sculpture was premiered at Multivision’s «Motion of image and image of motion» exhibition in the Museum of Contemporary Art «Erarta» on November 6th.  On 12 Nov 2013 it was donated to Sergey Kuryokhin Contemporary Art Center. «Catboom!» was created by Nieto (France) coauthored with Russian artists during his 31.10-04. 11  master class at the International Festival of Animation arts «Multivision» in «LenDoc» Open Film studio. The professional Jury announced winners at 10 November. The Festival Jury are the animated film directors Konstantin Bronzit and Ilya Maximov; Andrey Sikorsky, an animated film artist; Alyona Minina, a film director, Nikolay Kopeikin, an artist, Anastasia Kurekhina, the director of the Contemporary Art Center named for Sergey Kurekhin.

The results of the selection will be published at the site at 7 october. The festival will take place 1-9 of November at cinema center "Rodina", cultural center "Lendoc" and Museum of contemporary art Erarta in St.Petersburg, Russia

 

The compettion program was screened at night 19 to 20 July in St.Petersburg at the Troitsky Bridge and in Amsterdam at Magere Brug, competition was showed there by KLIK! festival. The screens on the bridges were connected by video bridge. The Jury chose winners: Best International Film Award, Prize 500 euros from True Scare TV Channel, shared My Mum is aeroplane by Julia Aronova, Russia (she is also awarded as the Best Russian film) and Macropolis by Joel Simon, UK. Dear friends, we announce hereby selection at the 1st step of our festival - Street Art animation competition at our summer open air project graFFFest. We remind you that we are still accepting entries to our main festival at November till 15 August!

Dear friends, we remind you about the competitions of our 11th edition:
First of all, our unique The Best Street Animation competition that is held in summer apart of the main festival on evident weather reasons: the screening of the films is held open air and admission free in the framework of the International Art forum graFFFest that is public art offspring of Multivision festival.


Best films of this competition will be screened at the Multi-Brdge, in the unique open-air “cinema hall” that will unite St. Petersburg and Amsterdam on the night of July of 19 to 20. The lifted section of the Troitsky drawbridge facing the Hermitage museum would then become a screen for cine-street-art in St.Petersburg, Russia. The screen will measure over 400 square meters, rising high above the city streets. Tens of thousands city residents and guests will be our audience. In the Netherlands, our partner the International Animation Festival KLIK! will screen the films in competition at Magere Brug in Amsterdam

The choice of the Jury is 15 best animations in different nominations. This year we got a lot of brilliant animations in our competitive program, more than last year, but the jury decided that there is no main diamond amongst others and decided not to award Grand Prix this year 
So the winners of the festival are:

Multivision festival is taking part in the celebration of International Animation Day 2008 - 11.10.2008

Multivision festival for the 3rd time is taking part in the celebration of International Animation Day, IAD 28 October, the initiative of  ASIFA, the International Animated Film Association.

 The screenings will be held at the cinema center "Rodina" in St.Petersburg and at "35 mm" cinema hall in Moscow 25-26 october.

Dear friends! Just to remind you that our annual festival with all nominations exept "Small movie for a big city" will take place in St.Petersburg 6-7 December. The deadline for entries is 15 November.
 

Special edition "Small movies for a big city" of the VI International festival of Animation Arts "Multivision", the second one after the success of 2007 screening on Dvortsovy Bridge, was held on the drawn wings of 2 bridges: Dvortsovy and Troitsky bridger over the Neva River in the center of Saint-Petersburg:

 Dear friends,
The International festival of Animation Arts "Multivision" and St.Petersburg City Government hereby warmly invite you to become a participant of a special competition "Small movies for a big city: The best animated short film about a city and its citizens". The competitive program will be screened at open-air festival which will take place during Saint-Petersburg City Day, the annual celebrations of Saint-Petersburg anniversary at May 31st.

For the first time in its 5 years history the International festival of Animation Arts “Multivision” was held in the center of Saint-Petersburg – right on the drawn wings of bridges during the night in 2007 (watch video and tv, download the catalog). The best works of competitive program were screened on the opened leafs of the bridge. It was a great happening for all who came that night to celebrate a birthday of the city.
In 2008 the unique project called “Small movies for a big city” will be held again on a greater level with covering two main bridges of Saint-Petersburg and all nearby territories.
Thus the biggest movie theatre on Neva River with its 2 halls will draw in all favorite walking citizens’ routes and transform them into fabulous world of dreams and fantasies.

The competition in 2008 will be held in following nominations:
• “The best animated short LOVE film” prize 500 euro
• “The best animated short FAIRY TALE film” prize 500 euro
• “The best animated short WINDOW BRIDGE film” prize 1000 euro

Plasticine Crow at the International Animation Day - 21.10.2007
 

 Many artists of different genres will be present at the opening ceremony of the Plasticine Crow monument  as well as city government. Everybody  will wear costumes and play roles from cartoon films. It will be at 26 october 17.00, and next day, 27 october at 14.00 we shall have children's competition in plasticine sculpture, then screening of animayion by Alexander Tatarsky, then international screenings.

 At night we have a great animation party at Soho club. Famous musicians will sing songs from cartoon films, everybody will were masks and costumes.
The day 28 october will be dedicated to international screenings.

Multivision festival is taking part in the celebration of International Animation Day - 30.09.2007

   Multivision festival is taking part in the celebration of  International Animation Day, IAD 28 October, the initiative of  ASIFA, the International Animated Film Association.  One can read about the program-2007  here

The screenings will be held at the cinema center "Rodina" 26-27 october.

 

 Alongside with  international program we shall show the retrospective of the great russian animation film director Alexander Tatarsky. We dedicate the celebrations to his memory.

The International festival of Animation Arts "Multivision" announces a competition "Small movie for a big city". - 28.03.2007

Filnm projection on Palace bridge The competitive program wilt be screened at open-air festival during Saint-Petersburg City Day. The City Day is the annual celebrations of Saint-Petersburg anniversary at the last weekend of May.
Numerous street displays at the day time and drawn wings of the Palace Bridge during the night will be used for screening the international program of the animated films about a big city and its citizens. The festival is planned to take place on the 26th of May.

The 3rd International Festival of Animation Arts "Multivision" will be taking place in St. Petersburg on April 28 2006 - 27.03.2006

The selection committee will choose new animated works for the contest program and award winners in following nominations: "The Best animated film for children", "The Best internet animation", "The Best experimental animated film". This year festival jury will select the best work in newly introduced nomination "The Best interactive animation". The critic's choice and viewer's choice awards will also be selected. Festival will also have non-contest program, which deals with any kind of animated arts: flash-art, video-art, games etc.

The Children program of the 2005 Multivision International Festival of Animation Arts took place with great success at 3rd of December 2005 in the cinema center "PIK" - 05.12.2005

   
   
The special children jury being very objective because of wide choice of the ages of the participants: Ilya Bougaev (11) Anya Spiridonova (11), Polina Popova (10), Katya Tarassova (5), Semen Masseev (4 ) chose the best animation and awarded prize to the winner:

The Children program of the 2005 Multivision International Festival of Animation Arts will take place in St Petersburg on 3rd of December 2005 in the cinema center "PIK" - 17.10.2005

Last year the children and the “adult” program was held at the same date, but now it is splited: we would like to pay special attention to our youngest spectators and present them their own party.

The special children jury will choose the best animation and award prize to the winner at the 3rd of December.

All the other prizes will be given by professional and press jury during the official Award ceremony at the traditional night “adult” program of the Multivision festival. The date will be announced later. Follow the news!

 
The 2005 Multivision International Festival of Animation Arts will take place in St Petersburg on 5 November 2005. - 01.06.2005

It will feature Artist-animators from Russia as well as other countries both near and far!

We, the organizing committee of festival as well as one the most progressive and enthusiastic audiences anywhere, impatiently await your new works for inclusion in the competitive and hors-concours programs!

On 20 November 2004, at the Baltiskii Dom theatre in St. Petersburg, Multivision 2004, the 2nd International Festival of Animation Art, took place to huge public response. - 25.11.2004

On the second year of its existence, the festival had considerably expanded its program including an all night marathon screening and a day time children's programme. And, for the first time, a competition was held for the best animation films in various categories.
